MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF PUBLIC ENTERPRISE OF MONDAY MARKET COMPANY

Abstract

The study examined the management and operation of the Monday Market company Limited, Maiduguri.

The study revealed that collection of stall/shop fees are the major function of the organization. The study found that the organization is not adequately funded by government as well as the rent rate for stalls and shop are low, therefore, revenue generated is low. This made the management and operation of the organization rated poor. It was also found that the organization have qualified staff for its operations.

However, lack of fund, political and external interference couple with lack of cooperation amongst traders and traders union.
