EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP: ADDRESSING UNSAFE MIGRATION IN DESSIE CITY ADMINISTRATION, ETHIOPIA

Abstract

This research explores the role of entrepreneurship in empowering women and addressing unsafe migration in Dessie City Administration, Ethiopia. Unsafe migration, especially among women, has become a pressing issue in many regions, leading to numerous social and economic challenges. By conducting a case study in Dessie City Administration, this study examines the impact of entrepreneurship on women's economic empowerment and its potential to reduce unsafe migration. Through qualitative data collection, including interviews and focus group discussions, the research sheds light on the experiences of women entrepreneurs, their challenges, and the ways entrepreneurship can serve as an alternative to migration. The findings highlight the significance of empowering women through entrepreneurship as a means to foster self-sufficiency, financial independence, and a safer environment.
