INFLUENCE UNVEILED: INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF HIGHLIGHTING SOCIAL ISSUES THROUGH TV DRAMAS ON THE AUDIENCE

Sajid Mahmood , Assistant Professor, Department of history, University of Karachi, Pakistan

Abstract

This research study explores the impact of highlighting social issues through TV dramas on the audience. TV dramas have long been recognized as a powerful medium for storytelling and entertainment. However, in recent years, they have also emerged as a platform for raising awareness about pressing social issues, such as gender inequality, domestic violence, mental health, and environmental concerns. This study aims to investigate how viewers perceive and respond to such TV dramas, the extent to which they influence attitudes and behaviors, and the potential implications for societal change. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, the research sheds light on the effectiveness of TV dramas as vehicles for addressing social issues and fostering meaningful dialogue within the audience.
