
METACOGNITIVE COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT AT FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

The progress of metacognitive competence is a predominant formative mental object in the education of students, as attaining this stage implies strong teaching that is appropriate for every one of them. Metacognitive competence assumes that students are mindful of their cognitive activity, i.e. learning pursuits and self-management mechanisms, which encompass cognitively, manipulation (principles, techniques, and strategies).
